1. Sharecropping was an economic solution that resulted from elimination of slavery. This system enabled African Americans to gain employment and have some control over their labor. White landowners also benefited from this system as they no longer had free labor. Sharecropping also changed African American lifestyles as many females opted to domestic duties as opposed to working in cotton fields. This change led to more African American couples starting families and raising children.
