Antitrust Claims
Antitrust claims are accusations made against a company for violating the Antitrust law(s). Antitrust laws are meant to protect businesses and consumers against wrongful doings caused by companies performing unfair business practices and other issues. Price fixing, bid rigging, monopolies, and market allocation, among others, are all common issues that the Antitrust laws prohibit. The Sherman Antitrust Act and Clayton Antitrust Act are both part of the body of laws that protect. Netscape, a subsidiary of America OnLine (AOL) felt that Microsoft had violated these Antitrust Acts and therefore they filed a lawsuit against them.
