Nardelli: Leadership at Home Depot

Introduction -

Not all managers are leaders. A leader is one who "[influences] behaviors of individuals and groups toward predetermined goals in organizations" (Baack, 2012, ). A manager focuses on "coping with complexity through the use of basic managerial functions of planning, organizing, and control" (Baack, 2012, p. 212). Therefore, one does not have to be a manager to be a leader. Not all leadership styles are ethical.
