Countries imply laws and regulations to control foreign business operating within their borders. Not every country uses the same procedures when it comes to establishing a new foreign business. It seems that the United States have some of the toughest laws and regulations. The United Kingdom is the number one country with the most holdings in the United States. Some of the companies that are controlled by the United Kingdom include New York's Plaza and Essex House hotels, the Caribou Coffee Co., and the aircraft manufacturer Cirrus Industries, Inc.
