The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) addresses obstacles that American citizens with disabilities face daily. The ADA protects the civil rights of citizens with disabilities and is similar to Affirmative Action in this respect (United States Department of Labor, 2002). The Act guarantees equal access and opportunities to people with disabilities concerning employment, transportation, public accommodations, public services, and telecommunications (U. S. Department of Education, 2011). Removing these barriers is not only the job of governments but also of every American, so that society may benefit from the abilities of these individuals.

The ADA is a piece of legislation that gives Americans with disabilities more than just physical access to a place of business. This enactment examines the courses of action in place for the delivery of programs and assistance involving people with disabilities.
