United Service Organization (USO)

The United Service Organization is a nonprofit organization that provides programs, services, and live entertainment to United States troops and their families. It started in 1941 and rely on private contributions and other funds, goods, and services from corporate and individual donors. The USO operate 160 centers worldwide.

During my time in the Air Force I remember visiting USO locations across the world, it was so nice to see a smiling face and to get a bottle or water or food or make a phone call home. I also remember seeing Bob Hope in Saudi Arabia over Christmas, he was on a USO tour during the Persian Gulf War in 1991. It's just a place where military members can relax and...
