Based on Lunquist's (2006) article, what risks do you see in trying to maintain existing, working applications or replacing them with new, untested ones?

According to the Lunguist article green-planning is the wave of the future. Businesses must accept and embrace the change to more efficient work systems in order to remain competitive in an ever-changing market. Older systems are becoming harder to maintain and most costly due to energy cost. Many of the older applications are readily being replaced with more efficient infrastructures. Instead of upgrading older systems companies are building systems from the ground up at cheaper cost. Organizations that fail to commit to the going green changes risk profit loss, customer and public relations criticism.
