BIO-181L Pre-lab Worksheet: Scientific Investigation-Hypothesis Testing We applied the scientific method in an experiment in the laboratory, we use five slices of potato, and prepared five different solutions with different sugar concentrations, 0%, 5%, 10% , 25%, 50% and 75%, we placed the potato slices in the solution and incubated for 30 minutes at room temperature, we weighted and measured the area of each of the potato slices before and after the experiment to record the changes. We were able to proof our hypothesis with the help of observations and measurements in the laboratory that potato slices change in weight and sizes depending on the concentration of solute in the solution.
