BIO 101 Darwins Finches and Natural Selection of Change
**HERE IS A SAMPLE OF THE ESSAY***
Natural selection of Finches on two separate islands and how the Finches evolved within their own species. The size of the beaks of the birds and the population that is accordingly counted on a yearly basis's each year over a 100 year period. This experiment was the perfect choice since both islands had the same genetic background of birds and same species of birds. Both islands will be observed for changes in the species on a yearly basis's as cohabitation between the islands does not exist. With no cross-breeding going on within the species some evolutionary items should be noticed and will be documented.
The following items were used to track each island species, and the progress noticed on capturing the birds and taking measurements of the beak and the populations. A computer with a linear graph on size changes used from year to year and population growth shown on graphs included in this report.
The population of Finches were calculated by the size of the land masses of each island then counting the number of birds within three separate and equal areas. Each area of each island was of equal size. Then each island was divided into amount of hectors and multiplied by the amount of
