Consider a controversial issue that is of great importance to you, such as K12 education. Some believe that home schooling offers more a diverse and safer option. Others favor privatization in the hopes that a particular set of values can be instilled in students and that those who are the best can distinguish themselves from the rest. Yet others believe that public education is the best option for shared values and broad-based socioeconomic uplift. The arguments are more complex, but each position can be presented as a real world exercise in persuasion.
