I may be way off base with answering this question, but, hey here goes.
1) Lying - This can be used in persuasion by using an argument that is not valid at all, but plays off the emotional or mental state of the person that you are trying to persuade. You are just creating what that person wants or needs to hear to get them to react the way you want them to.
