I think that the law IDEA 2004 has satisfied its purpose by it makes it so all children regardless of severity of disability are entitled to a free education. Whereas 40 years ago (1970) there were 1 million children between the ages of 7 and 17 were not enrolled in school. Also with this law there is the Equal Protection Clause where students with disabilities have the same rights and benefits, such as going on field trips and extracurricular activities. I think one way that this helps the diverse learners is that again it offers free and appropriate education and also offers nondiscriminatory assessment.
