Introduction Death penalty has been around since 18th Century BC, death was often cruel and included crucifixion, drowning at sea, burial alive, beating to death, and impalement (Reggio, 1999). Over the years the methods used, and the types of crimes capital punishment was implemented on changed. However, the notion of capital punishment has become more and more controversial.
