Measles is a viral disease that is highly contagious. Although it can be controlled through vaccinations, it can still lead to complications such as ear infections (most common in children), diarrhea, and even death (CDC, 2019). Within the United States, measles has been eliminated since 2000, outbreaks continue to happen as a result of import of the disease from other countries (Gastanaduy et al, 2016).
