A. Labor Demand

1. Surrey must hire more police officers because many of our current force is close to retiring, the

average age is 45. We need to make up for them retiring so we dont incur and even bigger

employee shortfall.

1. We need to hire and retain more Police Officers to cut back our overall overtime payout. We are close to reaching our budget for the year and we must not go over. Several of our officers made more money than the Mayor of Surrey and this went public.
2. Our city needs to remain safe, by having the same officers on multiple shifts working overtime consistently creates mental and physical exhaustion. B. Labor Supply
