A. Causes of workplace conflict

1. Our current police force is angry following the Mayors announcement that overtime pay will be cut. The officers are used to the overtime and grievances filed show that it will create financial hardship amongst them. Anger is not the correct way to handle this situation, it will only result in more problems.
2. Poor work ethic is spreading amongst the department following the Mayors overtime cutback announcement. The poor work ethic is affecting integrity, teamwork, quality of work with the threats of high absenteeism and writing warnings instead of traffic tickets is being perceived as poor work ethic.
3. City Management perceives the current police force as having a lack of cooperation. The officers threatened to retaliate...
