Rapport and the relationship a nurse build with a patient are very common. After all, certain patients are admitted in the hospital for long periods of time. Therefore, it may come as no surprise if patients ask requests. These requests could be simple, and some patients would ask nurses to withhold information from their families until the appropriate time. These requests can be granted as long as keeping information will not put the patients life in jeopardy. However, Mr. Newcombs request would put me in a very uncomfortable situation where I am forced to act on a request beyond the area that my job requires.
