Hypothetical Case (basic details only): Janet is a 36-year-old woman with chronic lower back pain. She was involved in a car accident six months ago and has experienced persistent pain in the lower back that is keeping her from sitting at her desk at work and sleeping. Janet is moderately overweight and not active. She does not suffer from any other illnesss that she is aware of. She is a middle-class citizen residing in a middle-class neighborhood.
