Communication in today's healthcare system is a vital tool. There has to be a mutual understanding amongst all parties involved, whether it is the physician and the patient or the physician and their assistant. The lack of communication or the miscommunication among those involved could be fatal. With the healthcare industry the more details the better.

Physician-Patient Relationship

Physicians and patients have a relationship like no other. A patient should be able to trust their physician without any doubt. Physicians typically know their patients better than anyone else and with the most intimate information. For example, if a patient is having sexual problems, the physician is going to know every detail there is so that he or she will be able to help their patient. That is information that the patient may not share with anyone else. If a patient does not feel comfortable with their physician then the patient may not receive the most beneficial treatment. There has to be trust between the two. Clear, concise communication and concrete information is the way physicians, assistants, and patients should be towards one another.
